About Us

Stormtech is an Australian family business that was started by John Creighton in 1989.He was asked by an architect to help him design a hobless shower for a wheelchair bound client who wanted to shower without a carer. But, a shower base without a rim required a very special drainage grate, which John Creighton invented.

Due to the pleasing aesthetic qualities, the elegant finish, and high efficiency this design was adopted as standard, patented and is now the Stormtech 65A Slim Line drain. His son, Troy Creighton has been involved in the company since its conception and came on board full time in 2002.

Today, John is involved in consultation capacity. In 2004 Stormtech won a Design Mark at the Australian Design Awards. Since 2006, Stormtech has been a member of the Standards Australia Committee and has been involved in the writing of the code covering lineal drainage in bathrooms.
