Melbourne is set to get its first W Hotel, with Cbus Property confirming W Melbourne will open as part of its $1 billion-plus mixed-use luxury precinct Collins Arch in 2020.
Known for its flair for the theatrical, local Melbourne interior design practice Hachem has been appointed to design the hotel’s interiors.
Operated by W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, W Melbourne at Collins Arch will be located in the eastern tower of the landmark dual tower project, which will also feature WELL-rated commercial office space, retail, hospitality and luxury residential apartments.
It's architectural form, designed in collaboration with Woods Bagot (recently rated by Building Design as number 7 among the top 10 architectural firms in the world) and New York practice SHoP architects, will feature the city’s first sky bridge that links the dual towers.

Sean Hunt, Area Vice President Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International said the hotel would shake up Melbourne with its bold design, signature amenities and a full calendar of events showcasing what’s new and next in fashion, music and design.

W Melbourne will join W Hotels’ robust portfolio of over 50 hotels around the globe, including W Brisbane, which is slated to open in 2018.
Collins Arch is one of Australia’s largest mixed-use developments, located on a unique 6000 square metre island site set to feature an unparalleled 3500 square metres of public realm incorporating 1500 square metres of proposed park on Market Street subject to authority approval.
